UNO!!

It's been awhile, and we've sure been busy..

Emily has been obsessed with the game UNO, she wants to play it ALL the time. It has been fun playing it too. She wants to play it every minute of the day practically..the other day she even wanted to miss out of playground time before school to play a game of UNO.(i know.crazy). Too cute. She's actually getting pretty good too..

Robert has been working more this week, I guess trying to get some things working before our trip to CA for the first week of spring break. It's so nice him having such a flexible schedule, but only for the simple fact that he is able to come to parent/teacher meetings and things like that. He's such a great dad and enjoys being so hands on.. We are so lucky!!

Emily has been a busy little girl these days too. She's still doing karate and truly enjoying that, just moved up another dragon belt. She also started a sibling group @ LIFE center. She so LOVES it, it's for siblings of those who have a bro/sis that have Autism. They teach them all about Autism and other related disabilities, what all the therapies do and most of all, they have some fun @ LIFE. Next week they get to shadow each therapy (music, ot, pt, speech) so they can get a better understanding of what it is they do. It couldn't have come at a better time.. I have been struggling for about a year or so to come up with a really good way to get her to truly understand what Autism is, books, discussions and bam.. here it is, and at a great time..

Tyler is rocking and rolling lately, so many new words and it's just a true blessing every single day. Now that we have taken control back around here, it seems to be more relaxed. He is still just loving to be outside and get his tickles. I can not tell you how much I am in love with our therapy team right now! Everyone is meshing so well, and they all just adore my little man (i mean how can you not?) Erin and Sabrina are true miracles! They are our rockin' ABA gals that's for sure! I have decided to start the transition to moving all his therapies to the afternoons to get ready for the summer program and for Kindergarten next fall, so please say a bunch of prayers for us that things will not change that much! Man, just when things are perfect... things have to change. I can NOT loose my team...

Last week we had our transition meeting at his school to discuss where to place him next year. They are recommending the LEP (learning enrichment program) for him. Ms. Nora was there as well, she will be his teacher. So, we are now leaning to about 90% for that program rather than the LIFE academy.. Well, for one thing with all the state cuts, the scholarship might not be an option anyway.. But the LEP is a great program, Ms. Nora truly does dedicate herself to getting these kidos mainstreamed as quickly as they are ready to. This is a goal of ours, and to have him modeling after typical peers, is important for us. He will be in typical classes for circle, music etc, with the help of an aid (until he doesn't need the aid). Then, just depending on how successful he is with that, he will do other specials in a regular class as well (math, spelling etc).. So, we are doing a 1/2 day Kinder, then therapies in the afternoon. We already know we will do 2 years of Kinder just cuz he's so young.. I mean a typical Tyler would need two years.. We did it w/Em, we'll do it with Tyler.. We are excited but nervous about this next step, but I think the only thing I'm most nervous about is switching therapy to afternoons.. I know he'll do great next year!! Fingers crossed, prayers please..easy transition..

I've been busy with helping LIFE sell raffle tickets ~ if you haven't gotten yours..LET ME KNOW. This is helping the center raise money to help with the state cuts to therapy! It goes to our kids!! I'm reading a book to Emily's class on Monday, it's Dr. Seuss day so they have a fun filled day full of fun activities.. I am excited about my upcoming Vegas trip with Jody and Karen, can't wait to get away for a few days... I've also been trying hard to stay connected to my girls~ making time is so important.. It's so nice to be with people who you connect with, I recently spent time with LeeLee, Christa, Jody, Karen, Amy, Steph and just truly love every minute.. Friends are so important to my sanity, and surrounding myself with people you really want to spend time with, is the best feeling! Thanks girls, you all mean so much to me!!

We are going to CA for the first week of spring break.. We will get there Sunday evening, and spending a few days with the Simanek's having a great time.. then Robert and all the kids are driving down to mommy-in-laws like Wed night. I'm staying @ Lori's to do like 3 days of scrapping with Lori and Cindy (she's flying on wed night). Then Robert and the kids are driving back to pick us up on Sunday to then drive home. I'm super excited about getting my books up to date.. I am so far behind!! We will still have an entire week to spring break when we get home. Tyler still has therapy, but we have some fun things planned for that week at home.

Other than that, we are going to the Renaissance Festival (thanks ford for the free tickets ;) on Sat, Em has a playdate on Sunday with Natalie and then we are going hiking! Good times!!

Have a great weekend everyone! And let me know how many raffle tickets you want!!

Loves and Hugs XOXOXO

Terri :)
