Getting Old!!

I forgot to mention yesterday that I went to the Dr to get the results from the knee X-rays I took back in December. Needless to say I have early on-set osteoarthritis. In simple terms, I have practically no cartilage in either knee ~ it's bone on bone baby!! She said I might be 38, but I have knees of a 65 year old. UGH!!! So, basically I should be in no way running, jumping or doing aerobic exercise that "pounds" my knees. Freakin' A!! I told her about my 10K training, she said I could probably push thru with that, but after that run, I better not want a life of marathon running.. I should be doing either biking or swimming really?... Believe me, running isn't a passion, this 10K is just something I wanted to accomplish before the big 4-0 and then it's bye bye runs... She does want me to get P.T tho, so I am going to do that, see if it helps.. Both knees are in a lot of pain pretty much all the time, I can barely even climb stairs. This isn't something you can reverse, just maintain, and worse case scenario if it gets to the point I can't live with the pain, I will have to have knee replacement surgery. If I don't push it and make it even worse (which you can do if it's not maintained/treated) I can just keep plugging away..

Mom is still in the long term facility. No talk of her coming home anytime soon, which is getting a bit frustrating. I am just hoping they are doing all they can, I know she is working hard at P.T and O.T to try and get stronger. The wounds are a tensy bit better, it is such a slow process, I just can't believe it's going on 7 months.. Her spirits are good tho, and she's reading a lot. She seriously read the entire Twilight series in like a week. Crazy..
